System Components & Specifications

Detection & Releasing equipment:

  • The FM200 Releasing Control panel monitors the condition of the electric actuator, detectors, warning devices, cylinder pressure, manual release and abort stations. All electric and electronic devices must be connected to the control panel to function properly.
  • The Janus Fire Systems Releasing Control Panel is a flexible single-hazard releasing control panel that is well suited for a number of applications listed for use with agent based fire suppression systems. It utilizes a microprocessor-based system that has 32 Standard Programs, which covers a majority of installations.

Agent:

  • The FM200 clean agent is the most widely used Halon alternative; It has zero ozone depletion potential and a global warming potential of one.

Cylinder:

  • The FM200 clean agent fire suppression system can be stored in 360 psi steel cylinders.
  • Cylinders are categorized to 3 sizes (Sv, Mv, and Lv series) each with multiple cylinder size options.

Nozzles and Suppression:

  • FM200 distribution components are discharge nozzles (360o,180o, and 90o) along with the associated piping system and fittings used to connect the nozzles to the cylinder assembly
  • Discharge nozzles are used to uniformly distribute the FM200 agent. They are performance tested to ensure that the agent is discharged within 10 seconds and properly dispersed throughout the protected area. Maximum nozzle height for a protected space is 16 ft (4877 mm) per tier of nozzles.

General System Specifications:

  • FM200 fire extinguishing systems are designed to be discharged within 10 seconds into a room area, or enclosure with the structural integrity to retain the agent. The FM200 uniformly mixes throughout the protected area, achieving a minimum concentration level in accordance with NFPA 2001 and/or agency listings.
  • Trim components complete the installation of the FM200 system and consist of the electric valve actuato, the manual valve actuator, and the discharge pressure switch.
